Outstanding & unique this old Kerman pictorial rug circa
1920. This rug is so incredible, that I hardly know where to
begin to describe it. It is a pictorial rug & every inch of this
rug has a different pattern. I would so love to know the story
it tells. This rug is hand knotted in a fine weave & the
overall look of the design to me is quite primitive. The
condition is very good, having only extremely minimal wear.
The colors are vivid & quite elaborate. This rug obviously
was well taken care of & it is very clean. Some of the
designs on the rug are of a decorated pottery vessel, a city
on a hill, a man that appears to be a scholar, birds animals,
a temple, mythological symbols & so much more ,this rug is
simply mind blowing! It measures approx 13’ x 9’7”. I had
this rug identified by J.R.Azizollahoff; Oriental rug
Consultant & Author of the Best Selling Books “The
Illustrated Buyer’s Guide to Oriental Carpets” & “Oriental
Rugs from A to Z”. This rug is fresh from an estate in
Rockland, Maine.
