19th century bronze eagle. This bronze eagle is
very unique in shape – the detail is magnificent –
every feather is highly detailed with huge talon
feet on a flowing branch. I believe this eagle was
once part of a podium/lectern. It has two spaces
in the wings where obviously something was
attached to it. The surface patina is rich and
wonderful. You can tell it has been assembled in
sections as a lot of bronzes of that time period
were. It measures 45 ½” wide from tip to tip and
25” high @ highest point. There are no makers or
foundry marks found that I can see.
