19th Century Bronze Portrait, Lincoln (bdw315)

19th century architectural plaque with portrait bust of Abraham Lincoln in high relief. Exceptional detail extremely fine. Rich and lustrous, original surface patina. Has a hook on the back for hanging. Checking it thoroughly I find no foundry mark. I guarantee you this is a fine quality 19th century bronze. Nice large size. 11 inches in diameter and approximately 1 inch deep. 19th Century Bronze Sculpture The Grenadier Madrassi (bdw75)

The Grenadier! Here is one of the most handsome 19th century bronze sculptures! It is by Italian born sculptor Luca Madrassi Tricessimo Italy June 1848-1919. He studied and worked extensively in France. The biography of Luca Madrassi can be found in the book Bronzes of the 19th Century on page 445. This very masculine bronze is signed at the base L. Madrassi. There ia also a plaque on the base in the front that reads - GRENADIER PAR MADRASSI MEDAILLE AU SALON. Along with a foundry tag on the back of the base which reads Fabrication Francaise. It has a wonderful rich patina and it stands on a spectacular verde marble base. It is an impressive size measuring 36” high x 10 7/8”wide x 9 ½” deep.

Here is an absolutely magnificent 19th century sculpture of a Stag standing below palm trees on a rocky ground. This sculpture is made of spelter with incredible detail. Each leaf of the palm tree is distinct and all the palm skins of the trunk are highly detailed as well as the rocky ground that this stag or deer is standing on. This lamp actually looks silver plated – that is basically what spelter is it is a base metal that can be highly polished to imitate silver....

Bronze Lion, absolutely beautiful 19th century bronze lion figure, it is a lovely little small size that is most likely intended for a paperweight, the detail is so superb in this animal figure you can see every clump of fur in his ruffled mane, great natural facial features, his eyes, nose, whiskers & mouth all well defined, the detail continues under his neck and down into his chest with all the ruffled lion fur, his paws are well defined even when you turn him upside down, you can see all the detail even underneath the bottom of his paws, he’s very muscular and the movement in this small lion sculpture is very exciting, the surface patina is very rich, wonderful and mellow Measures: 5 ¾”L x 2”H at highest point at top of maie

What an incredible rare find. Here is a pair of action packed and what I believe to be mantel garniture. They are actually major sculptures and the tree trunks form a vase. Spectacular in every single way – the colors and workmanship are totally reminiscent of Meissen. In fact when you first look at these you will say Oh Meissen…they are that wonderful! This pair of vases as far as what I have found doing a little bit of research on them were made by the JW Hammann Co Walendorf Germany 1764-1787......

Here is a completely rare 19th century Parian sculpture. This sculpture is entitled Isaac & Rebekah and it is artist signed W Beattie. You can find this information in the book Parian Phenomena page 192 plate 635 – There is not much else to say about this sculpture. As you can see for your self it is so well defined the detail is impeccable. Facial expressions and accessories like the hat, cane and toes of Isaac and Rebekah are all extremely well defined. It is in pure pure gorgeous white and feels exactly like silk......

Tibetan Bronze Female Sculpture with Rubies (bdw771)

Here is positively spectacular bronze female sculpture – which I believe to be from Tibet. Dating from the 19th century or earlier – this sculpture has such exquisite detail it is beyond description. The movement is quite flowing and there where a total of five rubies inlaid into the sculpture (the one in the headdress is missing). She has an arm band on each arm with a floral design with a ruby in the center, she also has a ruby in her belly button and one right below the breast.....
