Buffalo Pottery Pitcher Deldare Ware
Buffalo pitcher - Buffalo pottery Deldare ware under glazed 1908. Here is an absolutely exciting buffalo pitcher and not a common one to come by. The title of the pitcher is called The Return. It has absolutely gorgeous work in a fantastic shape. What I can tell you is this – I see that the pitcher has some old repairs along the bottom they have been done professionally and are very hard to detect. A pitcher such as this one is not any easy one to come by – it has so much shape and so much going on. The pitcher is decorated over almost every inch of the surface. So there you go – keep in mind that it has been professionally repaired. It measures 8” at highest x 7 ¼” at widest with the diameter of the base 5 5/8”.

Antique Art Pottery Vase with Dragonfly
Here is absolutely breathtaking pottery vase. It is awesome with a clay color body that is unglazed. Starting at the top of the crimped edge of the vase there is a thick mottled blue and white heavy applied glaze or enamel with a dragonfly in full figure perched on the vase. It has two handles and it is marked on the bottom with the impressed numbers 82 and a scratched in initial. It measures 6" high with a 3 5/8" opening of the top - the body has an approx diameter of 6.” This vase is incredibly attractive and I have a sneaky suspicion that this may quite possibly be Japanese Pottery - dating from the early 1900's, looking through only a few books I have noticed several Japanese pieces that look very similar in workmanship having applied flowers and bugs - anyway it's a great art pottery item and it is in perfect condition

Schramberger German Art Pottery Scenic Vase
This is a fabulous craftsman era art pottery vase made by Schramberger, Germany before 1918. The beauty is exceptional and the art work is very fine. The condition Overall is excellent with a lot of surface crazing as would be expected. There is one small thing that I noticed - as I tilted it just right in the light on the very rim of the top opening it looks like it has a very old faint professional repair about the size of a little finger nail tip. The artist's initials are nestled in-between trees "TR". I have tried to get pictures from all angles. The only markings on the bottom are numbers hand written under glaze. The overall color is a little more subdued then these pictures - a little more mellow but yet vibrant. It measures 12" high with the opening of the vase measuring 3” in diameter.

Majolica Pottery Pitcher Yellow Birds Cranes
Here is a tall and fascinating majolica pitcher with full body standing cranes in the wreaths or marshes. It has a cranes head for the handle. The interior of the pitcher is pink with a yellow exterior. As you can see it has brown cranes, marsh wreaths and green foliage. Underneath the base it has a greenish grayish molded color with a spider hair line (minute) and a hand written #13. The spider hair lines are sort of in the center of the base and do not show on the interior. It measures 9 ¼” at highest x 7 ½” at widest (including handle) and the base diameter is 5 ¾”. Circa 1880's. Striving For Excellence It isn’t brilliance or just getting the breaks, It is consistent attention to & honest respect for the Customer.

Antique Art Pottery Table Lamp Lighting
Fantastic table lamp looking every bit like a Weller or Rockwood but marked on the bottom with the impressed mark SO. The bronze base that the lamp is sitting on is marked with what I can see to be the words Munsy Indiana and I believe one of the other words may be Highland Company – not quite sure. I am sure however that it is a wonderful piece of American art pottery. It is on a very nice bronze base, as I already mentioned, with a scallop cutout base very much in the art nouveau style. The lamp fittings are good and work well with the lamp. It has wiring in what appears to be to me a 1930’s vintage. The pottery itself is in very good condition having only one light surface crazed marked from the top of the lamp fitting to the tip of the leaf on the left side – you have to turn it in a specific light to pick-up that crazing line. Otherwise the lamp is deserving of a wonderful shade! The lamp base measures 9” high the lamp from base to the top of the electrical fitting measures 18”. The diameter of the lamp base is 6”.

Antique Art Pottery Majolica Vase Blue Rams Heads Birds
Gorgeous and outstanding 19th century Majolica vase. It has the impressed mark FL on the base for Franz Lang Baudau 1825-1860. This stunning vase measures 22 ½” at highest x 10 3/8” at widest (including handles). The rich cobalt blue color enhances the classical white ram’s heads for the handles. The stunning and elegant sage green nicely contrasts the blue and white giving the overall piece such a sense of beauty and sophistication. There are exotic birds which are highly embossed on the front and back of the vase. The condition is perfect. This work and style is very reminiscent of fine Minton porcelain. If you like this vase from the pictures you will be blown away when you see it in person. Striving For Excellence It isn’t brilliance or just getting the breaks, It is consistent attention to & honest respect for the Customer.

Antique Japanese Earthenware Vase Signed
Well because of this vase I am now hooked on Japanese earthenware. When I saw this vase it took my breath away – my heart started to pound. When I got closer to it and ran my hands over the lushes glaze I fell in love. It is positively wonderful and if you are looking at it you probably already know it. It is a large Japanese earthenware vase from the Meiji period dating from the late 19th century into the early 20th century. Oribe is the style of the work and glaze. On the bottom it is signed by the artist Gorosuke - who is quite famous as I understand. This stunning vase has so much style and believe it or not so much form and movement.

Antique Ornate Cobalt Blue Pottery Centerpiece Cherubs
Here is an absolutely wild compote! It is so ornate and so incredible that it is really hard to describe. The shapely bold pottery centerpiece is all ribbed in form. The richness of the cobalt blue is incredible. It is heavily glazed. It sits on a bronze colored base that is made up of four classical dolphin heads and at the very base the feet are seashells. At each end of the compote there is a mounted seahorse with cherubs sitting along the side holding their reigns. I don’t know much about this compote other then I can guarantee you that it is 100 years old or more. Who made it? I have no idea. It is however in very good condition except for one old repaired break to one of the seahorse’s feet. Of course you know the reason I bought this because of the dolphin base! Quite spectacular – a grand decorative item for anywhere. It is large, it is heavy, it is beautiful and the detail is very very fine. The combination of the gold and cobalt blue is breathtakingly exciting! It measures approx 19 ½” at widest x 13 ¾” at highest x 11 ¾” at deepest.

It is in very good condition except for a spider hairline on the base ,& I have done my best to get a good picture of it for you . It has all over gentle crazing in the glaze and I suspect that this is exactly the way it was made. Measures 23”high 8 ½” diameter

Southwest Indian Pottery Vessel
A great Native American Pottery Vessel, Measuring 6” high x 4” diameter. In the Eagle Feather Design: Hopi Indian for sure & after recently researching some Indian pottery pieces, I will attribute this piece although unsigned to Roberta Youvella Silas. After looking at several examples I feel very certain that Roberta is the maker of this vessel, I have included a bit of info on this artist for you, so read on about this fascinating woman & her pottery! Roberta Youvella Silas was born in 1939 and has been making pottery since 1965. She is the daughter of Pauline Youvella (Laguna Pueblo) and Roy Youvella (Hopi- Tewa). No one in her family made pottery, so she learned to make pottery by working with Helen Naha (Feather Woman). Silas lives in the village of Polacca at First Mesa, where she has been able to see many examples of ancient Sikyatki pottery in the form of pot shards. She has incorporated the ancient pottery designs from these shards into her work. This is an extremely well made small bowl. It is nicely formed and painted with a precise hand. The ancient Sikyatki designs are a reminder of the continuity of pottery making on the Hopi mesas.

Chinese Export Celadon Cup & Saucer
Super nice Chinese Celadon enameled cup & saucer. This is a nice large size cup, with an interesting handle. As you can see the cup & saucer are enameled over almost every inch, with the traditional birds 7 butterflys. The condition is good all things being considered .There’s is very minimal wear to some of the enameling, There is a bit of roughness around the top & bottom edge of the cup & the saucer has some gold loss around the crimped design edge. All of the mentioned wear I would have to say is from gentle use over the years & they are extremely presentable & elegant. The cup measures 2 ½” High x 3 7/8” diameter of top, the saucer is a nice deep one 5 ½” diameter x 1” high. Chinese export cups & saucers are very rare & highly collectible!

Rookwood Art Pottery Vase Shirayamadani Monumental
The most fabulous Rookwood Pottery Vases that I have ever seen! It is monumental in size measuring 19 1/4h with a 35 3/8 circumference. This rare, monumental, and spectacular Rookwood vase has a rich and lustrous standard glaze. It is exceptionally well defined in an elegant form – having all the qualifications that make Rookwood the world’s most sought after American art pottery. It is marked underneath with an R and two flames and the numbers and letters 781 S along with the impressed letters L and then a W. It is signed by renowned artist Shirayamadani (for Kataro Shirayamadani) - circa 1902. The vase is in excellent condition – there is a slight hairline across the outside of the bottom base which appears to me to be almost a slight firing line. This is a fabulous Rookwood vase – so rare in size and the free flowing form and craftsmanship is to die for! A must see! Antique Rookwood Art Pottery Vase Shirayamadani

Indian Pottery Corn Beer Pot
Tarahumara Indian Pottery Corn Beer Pot. This super impressive pottery vessel was made by the Tamarahumara Indians of Copper Canyon in Mexico. Made in the 20th Century & purchased by a woman from here in Alfred Maine ,who at the time was a teacher on the Papago Indian reservation close by..Accompying this pottery vessel is a few magazine articles about the area & the Tamarahumara People ,as well as a two page hand written letter from this Lady who bought this vessal. The letter explains how she came to acquire this Vessel. As you can see this is truly a work of art in its very natural & simplistic form. What you cant see in the pictures is the power & striking stature of this vessel. Once you see it in real life you will understand .This vessel sits on a custom made shallow bowl type stand & is in excellent condition measuring 21” High x 13” across the body. Old Outstanding Pottery Vase ,Granular Surface,Marked
Fantastic Pottery Vase. I don't quite know how to describe this one - it is just chock full of what appears to be bits of sand - glazed sand. The overall decoration is of leaves. It is actually in incredibly fine condition. There are only a few tiny spots where the applied granular surface is either worn off, or has just fallen off, or just was not there period (the sections are very minute). It is an outrageous shade of bluish green. Marked only on the bottom with an insized J and a dot. This vase measures 8 3/8"h and the opening at the top measures 5" in diameter. I'm not sure whether this is American or European however I know it dates from the early 1900's and is really just a pottery masterpiece and again the condition is very very good.

Large Pottery Tile or Plaque Woman Music
Pottery tile or plaque. I don’t know who made this pottery plaque but it certainly is fabulous to me - it appears to look French or English. The lady is standing there playing a musical instrument that appears to be a string instrument; she is in folk dress standing in the mists of huge happy flowers. The plaque appears to be all hand painted with a tin glaze. The back of the plaque is heavily burnt and I find no makers mark what so ever. It appears to be made of very pale colored clay and the tile is quite heavy. Subject matter is pleasing and the condition is actually very good – it does have a little bit of crazing in the glaze – but I like to see that. This plaque measures 15” long x 9 ¼” wide by ¾” deep.

Moorcroft Pottery Ginger Jar Orange Umber
Here is quite an interesting piece of world famous Moorcroft pottery. What is interesting about this piece is the color – it is in an almost burnt umber orange in a ginger jar style with a removable lid. On the bottom it has an impressed mark of Moorcroft Burslem with the numbers 762 also on the bottom is an applied paper label with a W Moorcroft signature in pen underneath of that the label is printed hand made pottery with a space for a number – I suspect that it is very rare to find a hand signed label of W Moorcroft. The jar is in excellent condition although I see a slight hair line crack in the lid - it is visible only on the outside. The overall piece has a slight metallic glaze. This ginger jar measures 5 ¾”h and the diameter of the base is 3”. Nice art pottery from the arts & crafts era.

Truley a great Rookwood Jug in the standard glaze made & signed by Rookwoods premeire artist "Shirayamadani Kataro" working at Rookwood from 1887-1948.This jug dates 1888. It is a fairly large piece measuring 8" high x 3 1/4" diameter of base x 7" across middle body. Pair Decorative Stoneware Ewers or Jugs
Here is an absolutely wild and interesting matching pair of stoneware or terra cotta/clay ewers. They are just as macho as can be. I am absolutely unsure as to how old they really are but they are in a design which is truly Victorian with grapes and vines encircling dancing figures and musicians which also encircles the main body of the jug. There is a face I am going to say of the North wind in the front under the spout and on the top as you can see there is a truly homely wild boar which even has little tusks. On the handle there is a huge classical rams head. They are in fairly good condition I don’t see any breaks or chips. They are actually massive in size being 21 ½” high with an overall diameter of approximately 9”. I think these would go fabulous in an English Tudor kitchen or a German stoneware house on top of a fireplace mantel or bar – I mean just about any where that you would need some macho decoration these would work. They are wild and spectacular!

Mettlach Stoneware Punch Bowl & Punch Cups
Here is something spectacular – fabulous and famous German stoneware Mettlack Germany. This is quite the intricate punch bowl on tray. Every inch of it is molded in high relief and in the reserves all around the top of the lid and around the edge of the plate are German sayings. I hope you can see all of the decorations – the mythological figures, the dolphin finial, and the towns’ people dancing and celebrating all the way around the middle of the punch bowl. Mark on the bottom of the castle or Abby mark impressed for the date 1887. There are twelve punch cups all marked with a green stamp mercury mark and they also say made in Saar Basin and I believe these punch cups are associated and date form the 1930’s as far as my research tells me. There are slightly different in texture and color but an elegant and complimentary match. The cups measure 3 ¼”h and the diameter of the opening is 2 5/8”. The punch bowl measures 14 5/8”h and the overall diameter is 14”. The platter measures 16 3/8” in diameter.
