Curio Cabinet Walnut Art Nouveau

This is an extremely elegant china cabinet. It is in a pale brown mahogany. It is lavishly yet tastefully mounted in gilt glass. The lines of the cabinets are very stark and straight – the mountings play a big part in making the lines of this cabinet flow. On the bottom of each door there is a nice hand carved panel in typically Art Nouveau florals. The china cabinet has a mirror back and beveled glass front doors – and it is a very wide bevel.

19th Century Carved Wood Torchere Pedestal
|
Nice torchere “pedestal” completely hand carved of what appears to be oak. It has as you can see incorporated several different designs – which makes it scream of that look of antiquity. I believe this torchere dates from the middle 1800’s and overall the condition is fabulous. It is very sturdy – the surface extremely dry – just the way we found it – with that look we love – perfect to display a wonderful bronze or early candlestick on top.

Here is one of the most outrageous chairs I have ever laid eyes on. There is no way that your eye can stay stationary while looking at this chair. I believe it dates from the 19th century – as you can see it has the most incredible bold movement. The carving is truly excellent – and it is carved! The carving is so elegant – it is well defined and the cherub faces are just very very precious - they do look like a chubby cheeked little baby.
