Antique Victorian Pair Black Gold Compotes
|
Here is a very interesting of pair of aesthetic movement obelisks. These were generally found on each side of a clock. This particular pair is made of very highly polished black slate. They have fairly deep engraved designs that are incised with gold. They have a brass or bronze central column and rests on five brass or bronze flat coaster style feet. It has hugely stylized winged griffin handles on each side. In the center there is a portrait medallion roundel of quite possible a roman emperor. ...

Rooster Card Holder Marble
|
Here is a nice early 1900’s desk or table item. A nice piece for the credenza in the receiving hall to display your business cards on or to receive business cards on from your guests. The base of it is all black marble with I guess natural veining of a gold color and some gray veining. The roster mounting on the marble tray is stamped Austria and is quite decorative. I believe it is bronze and I see remnants of some color which leaves my to believe that it originally it had some touches of color ...

Fine Mother of Pearl Black Papier-mache Box
|
Here is a fabulous large 19th century papier-mâché box in a rich overall black color. It is lavishly inlaid with the most lustrous mother or pearl having deer grazing in the meadow with trees embracing the top left corner. The condition is good there is a surface crack at the top and bottom of the lid which is common and not unsightly in the least - it can be repaired easily. Old Carved Wood Lion Crest Gold Gild
|
Very elaborate 19th century carved and gold gilded coat of arms – country or family crest. The detail on this shield and gold gilding is exceptional! You can see the carved lions with the winged cherubs head as the center cartouche. There is a mythological face at the very bottom. At the center there is shield with carved wood and gold gilt balls resting on a painted surface. There are two damages – apparently missing applied pieces of wood – one on the right side of the central crest which you ...

Victorian Black Cat
|
One of my favorite subjects!!!! Here is a wonderful black kitty with beautiful amber eyes. It was made in the early 1900’s in some type of cardboard fiber. The condition is very good overall – he is in his original black paint. A couple of spots have some black paint cracking and it looks like someone nibbled on each of his ears – but never the less for a item made of such perishable material I consider him to be in very good condition. He would be a great addition to any cat collection. He ...

Bronze Tiffany Studios Jardinière Bowl

Here is an absolutely fascinating Tiffany Studios Jardinière. It is impressed on the bottom – TIFFANY STUDIOS FROM THE ANTIQUE with the numbers and letters S113 and 1600. It is absolutely wonderful jardinière every single square inch of it in very high bass relief bronze. It is all figural – and I’m not sure what the figures are of – they seem to me to look oriental or perhaps from the tombs of Rome. I’m just not 100% sure but I am sure however that it is truly a masterpiece. The surface patina ...

This is a wonderful vase in an elegant cylinder ovoid shape. The vase is bronze with a leaf and grape design along with a bird on a branch all enameled in gold gilding with tinges of silver. The bronze work is exceptional – the highlights in the vase scream of antiquity. I suspect that this vase being marked – MADE IN JAPAN – most likely dates from before 1914. The condition is excellent no dings, no dents, no apologies. It measures 7 ¼”h with an overall approx. diameter of 5” and the base is 2 ...

There are four religious enameled circular symbols of an angel, a stylized dove, a lion, and a lamb. The work is seriously fine and the cruets are studded with enamel roundels as well. Antique Lidded German Stein 0.5L Elaborate

This is a nice Early Stein - circa 1898. It is one of the most colorful steins! The colors are definitely deep and rich. The main body has a lot of cobalt blue and deep emerald green. The design is extremely flowing and every inch of it is covered. The central reserve on the front is what I believe to be a tavern scene at meal time (or beer time).
