Victorian Kerosene Wall Sconce Iron Glass
Here is a super 19th century double bracket two font oil wall sconce. In original black casted iron and I might add the casting is rather ornate and nicely done. The simple pressed glass fonts have that wonderful tint of Amethyst that’s that great old look that glass gets. It has the shade rings which I believe will take a gas shade or round ball shade with a 5” fitter or a little under. The two fonts are complete with the chimneys. The bracket that connects to the wall is also intact. The condition is very good with these lamps all you need to do is get a nice pair of matching shades for them. They measure 17” at highest x 5 ¾” at widest x 9” out from the wall.

Victorian Wall Sconce Gilt Brass

Opulent Victorian wall sconce. Very fine casting in brass with what appears to be a gold wash on the surface over the brass- It’s very classical in design with a rococo style shell on top & bottom. This two light wall sconce is already re-wired & ready to install. There’s no switch or pull chain so it has to be wired directly into wall box - it takes a candelabra base bulb. Banquet Lamps Oil Cut Glass Silver
This is an incredible Pair of Classical Corinthian column banquet lamps. They were originally oil burning and they date from the 19th century. The design is very architectural with deeply reeded columns on a multi-step base. The crystal oil font is extravagantly cut and appears to be English or Irish. Although this pair started out life together they are not identical. There is a minute difference in the design of the columns and at first glance not noticeable. They are now fitted for electricity with associated contemporary shades. Measuring 34 ½ inches high overall. The condition is very good.

Nouveau Brass & Beaded Lamp Shade
This makes the most outrageous lampshade. Starting out with a square brass frame strung with some pretty unusual beads - truly Art Deco, Art Nouveau. The central fitter appears to be leather. Where you put the light bulb through it measures a little under 1 1/8”in diameter, is 3 ¾” square & 6 ½” long overall including entire length of fringe. I think it is quite incredible that a fragile beaded shade like this can be in such perfect condition. Approx circa 1915-1920. I just had another thought - this would also be pretty incredible on an oil lamp chimney.

Hanging Oil Lamp Brass & Painted Shade
Here is a super nice hanging oil lamp – unusual in design being a little bit higher country then we normally see. It has a heavy repousse brass font in a swirling classical design. It has a rope twisted harp and a floral cartouche at the bottom. The chandeliers works on a pulley mechanism there is a pulley on the top canopy complete with a smoke bell - and of course you know the pulley was used to bring the lamp down to light the wick and then pulled back up. The shade is a white opal shade it has beautiful hand painted scene which is lakeside as you can see. The overall lamp is in extremely good condition – the shade is fine, the brass is rich and mellow. It has a little dent on the top side of the font not noticeable in the least unless you are really really looking for it. It is still in its original oil/kerosene burning condition. A fabulous piece! The lamp measures 37” to the top of the canopy (which can be adjusted to be higher or shorter depending on your needs) and the shade has a 12” overall diameter.

Here is one of sweetest little oil lamps that I have ever laid eyes on – and I’m sure if you are looking at these pictures right now you totally agree with me. It is made of a white opalescent glass with a pale putty satiny color finish. It is all hand painted and hand enameled. The birds appear to be barn swallows – on the shade and on the base. On the reverse side of the base and the shade there is another scene of flowers and branches that are crawling over a trellises or arbor if you will. The burner is marked – The Trenton Jr.

Ships Wall Sconces Oil Burning Gimball
A really nice matching pair of matching ships gimbal wall sconces. This pair is in a fairly extravagant style for a ships lamp. They are made of brass & have bold fluid movement. The wall bracket is also very stylish. There is a plaque on the lower shaft of the sconces that reads “C. Gray Ship Chandlers” “ Est. 1882 Arbroyath Scottland”. The sconces measure 27” Long from top to bottom & 10” diameter of shade. Overall the condition is excellent, one sconce has some roughness to the outside where the font sits into the base & some very minor slight dents as is usual & common, in oil lamps of this age. The burners are Duplex oil burners with a double wick in working condition & most likely not the original, but they are perfect!

Solar Chandelier Boston Gilt Brass Kerosene
Attributed to Hooper of Boston, this powerful solar chandelier! Gilt brass, holding 4 fonts with deeply engraved shades. The movement in this fixture is so naturalistic & free flowing with the ornate floral design chain drapery. The ornamental morning glory flowers in gilt brass are just stunning & so New England! This chandelier was converted to kerosene burning around the 1850’s & is still in the kerosene burning condition. It can be fitted for electricity. For the fact that it is a true authentic 19th century lighting fixture, I will leave it up to the future owner, the decision of weather or not to wire. The chandelier measures 49” long x 32” diameter. This is a true masterpiece in American Lighting, from a Brewer, Maine Estate.

Stained Glass Hanging Dome Gas & Electric
This is a great one! It’s not often that we have the opportunity to find such a stained glass dome that was originally powered by gas & electric at the same time. The quality is spectacular, made with copper foil & the color combination is equally spectacular! As you can see the movement in this hanging dome is quite fluid, that’s one of the sure signs of a great quality lamp. This lamp dates back to the 1890’s to approx 1910. It was only for a very short period of time when gas & electric power ran together. This hanging dome is in very good condition.

Sheffield Silver Hurricane Lamp / Candlestick
Elegant 19th Century Hurricane Lamp. Sheffield Silver (pure silver on copper) the design is purely classical with the designs in high repousse at top & bottom of the base. There is a monogram in fancy script on the front of the base. The shade is more ornate than most that I have seen in my carear, being very frosted with very deep engraving all around the shade& topped off with a spectacular cut/crimped top edge of the shade. The shade is permanently set into the base & the interior is fitted with a good size candle cup. The condition overall is very good , there is a very slight dent along the base & a very tiny bit of copper showing through in a spot or two. The photos are picking up a copper color hue that is not actually on the silver at all. This would make an exceptional gift for any occasion, a great antique decorative object ,that is actually very usefull, would look great on a center table in the foyer or at the dinner table with the candle lit! Measuring 16” high x 5” diameter of the base x7” diameter of the top of the shade. So you can see it is quite a good Size.

Deeply Etched Hurricane Candle Holders. Super nice & so functional. Blown in a mold, with deep engraved floral decoration. The candle cup is molded right inside the globe .I seriously wish that I had this pair on my sideboard, last time that my power went out .They are very heavy & substantial. The clarity of the crystal is very good & unfortunately just very hard to capture with the camera. Measuring 17”High x 9” across the body x6” diameter of the top opening x 6 ¾” Diameter of the base. Lovely classical design beaded crystal chandelier. French or Italian & dates from approximately the 1880’s. Early Lighting Double Float Lamp
Rare early lighting “The Double Float Lamp” made in the mid 1800’s of a naturalistic design in fine cast brass of a tree branch mounted on an iron base & from the top end of each branch is a free blown glass bowl that is the burner pot, these burner pots were filled with the fat or grease burning substance & a wick just floated in the medium. This a particularly nice one, the condition is great, only exception is that one of the glass floats is a little off color, its minor & probably due to age. It is 10 ½” h x 6 ¾” measured across the top crest & the base is 4” square. Search light lamp early lighting primitive country rush light.

Astral Style Lamp with Blue Column
Astral Style Lamp with Blue Column. This is quite a unique lamp. I can honestly say I have never seen one like it. The lamp columns are in two pieces and it is an absolute cobalt blue cut glass. It has an astral style font and it sits on a marble base which is 4” square. It has a beautiful beautiful deeply cut glass shade in that nice tam-o-shanter shape. This lamp is actually a fluid lamp not typically an astral lamp and it has the burner and is in good working condition. I think this was originally a working astral lamp and then maybe converted to fluid burning at a later date. It certainly is stunning – it has nice long star cut crystals. It measures 22”h to the top of the shade and sits on a 4” square base. Striving For Excellence It isn’t brilliance or just getting the breaks, It is consistent attention to & honest respect for the Customer.

Early Brass Push-Up Beehive Candlesticks
Nice early lighting, the beehive push up candle sticks in brass English or American circa 1840-1860. You can find more information on this type of early lighting in the book 19th century lighting, candle power. These candlesticks measure 9 ¾” high. Only One of the sticks still has the push up pin underneath & one of the sticks has a slight lean to it obviously in the casting, it is slight & only noticeable at a certain angle, otherwise this is a great pair of true early lighting devices & perfect for the lighting collection or early period decorating.

Classical Bronze Figural Banquet Lamp
Here is a completely stunning classical table lamp. This lamp as you can see was a fluid burning banquet lamp. The elegant cut glass font is held inside a highly ornate bronze Dore basket. The stem of the lamp is also bronze Dore and is being supported by two full bodied classical maidens. They are in a pose as if they were holding up a horn of plenty. The maidens are standing on a carved marble base that sits inside a heavy bronze Dore footed platform. As you can see the design is all of grapes and leaves. This lamp is signed by the sculpture - I believe - it is B or G Vian. The lamp is currently fitted for electricity with a contemporary black shade. The electrical fittings are for three lamp sockets each with a pull chain with a ball on the end. This is truly a classical masterpiece.

Wall Sconces Cast Iron Full Body Eagle
This is a rather nice vintage pair of old wall sconces. They appear to be made of cast iron and the casting is rather fine as you can see. They are overall a little bit rusted – these were being used outside for a long time. There is only one single candle branch in the center and it would appear to me that they could be with a little bit of ingenuity be wired for electricity by running the wiring on the outside of the central candle arm. They are in very good condition – all things consider – once again they do have a fair amount of rust it is old white paint that is on them. The back panel measures 11 ¼”w, from wall out measures 11” and it is 9 1/8”h.

Cut Glass Lamp with Beaded Shade
Every time I look at this lamp it reminds me of Imperial Russia – just the imperial stately nature of it and the swirling top resembles the fabulous imperial Russian architecture. The lamp is cut glass it is assembled in sections. The four footed brass or bronze base is truly classical in design with acanthus leaves. The cutting is very very simple with horizontal lines and there is a brass or bronze cartouche that hangs form under the shade.
