Centurion Door Knocker
This is a very nice black cast iron door knocker. It is of a nice small size measuring 4 ½” x 2 ¼”. The full
body centurion forms the knocker attached to the highly figurative back plate. It is stamped on the back
with the words Iron Art and the letters JM 79. The casting is very good and it is in the original black cast
iron painted surface with a nice patina. This would make a wonderful door knocker for the back door
even a powder room door maybe for the men’s room – It is a fantastic little piece!
1792 Fire Plaque with Eagle
Here is a wonderful collector’s item for either the eagle collector or the fire memorabilia collector – it is a
fire plaque of a casted eagle which I believe is zinc or white metal. I believe for the most part the eagle is
in its original paint which is 99% intact. The eagle is casted with extremely fine detail all the feathers and
talons are nicely defined and his stance is very bold. He is mounted on a piece of wood that may or may
not be original as the back but never the less these two pieces have been together fro quite some time.
Eagle Garden Sculpture
Absolutely outstanding architectural garden sculpture of an eagle on a tree branch. This is a very
exciting piece with immense detail. It is in a typical Japanese style and it dates from the 19th century. I
hope you can see the exceptional detail on the head of the eagle and his fierce sharp talons. The
movement of this sculpture is bold yet flowing. The bronze has built up over the years quite a desirable
verde patina. This monumental eagle measures 55” high with an outstanding 61” wing span.
Forged Iron Door Latch Architectural
Absolutely wonderful architectural item here – this is an early door latch probably dating form the late
18th century. It is hand forged in iron with a thumb latch on the top that is still in working condition. It is
encrusted over with old green paint. I love the shapeliness of it – I think it would be spectacular on an
early door. These are almost impossible to find in good condition and in shapes like these. The perfect
item to compliment an early door in your restoration project.
Boxed Lock and Key Architectural
Here is another great architectural item – it is a late 18th century or early 19th century box lock
complete with the key which is rare, rare, rare! It would make the most fabulous architectural item for
someone doing faithful restoration projects. This one appears to be in good working condition – it
would just need to be cleaned and oiled and you would have a perfect early lock. It measures 6”w x 5 ¾”
h x 1 ½” deep. Striving For Excellence It isn’t brilliance or just getting the breaks, It is consistent
attention to & honest respect for the Customer.
Bronze Flag Pole Eagle Architectural
Here is an absolutely wonderful 19th century solid cast bronze flag pole eagle. The definition is
extremely fine – it was very well casted. There are remnants of some oxidation going on as well as
some silver leaf over the bronze. Each feather is prominent. He has a slight amount of wear – just as
one would expect for sitting on top of a flag pole for many many years. Again the bronze is so very well
casted. Totally an American work of art! He measures 7 ½” at highest x 5 ½” at widest x 2” at deepest.
Striving For Excellence It isn’t brilliance or just getting the breaks,

believe he dates from the very early 1900's.
Iron Weights 18th Century
18th century architectural weights, these are rare & unusual balance weights .To me they are works of
art! Casted of iron in an amazing design resembling Austrian curtains. The surface is rusty & crusty.
One of the weights weighs 2.33 pounds & the other 2.7 pounds on my digital postal scale. They
measure 6 ¾” high x 2 ¾” in diameter. Forget about a current useful purpose, just set them on the
counter or book shelf, because they truly are folk art!
Cast Iron Gate
Bow Front Iron Grate a very nice architectural item from the 19th century. There’s a lot going on with
this and it is really a hard core Victorian design that is so well thought out.The design just flows with
free form lines. This grate was probably used on a big Boston Brownstone. Not only is this a great &
useful element, it is also a work of art & I can see it used in many different applications. It is in very
good condition being somewhat rusted.
Stained Glass Window Art Nouveau

Stained Glass Window. This is an exceptionally nice small stained glass window. In very Art Nouveau
design the colors are quite spectacular and I hope you can see that. Over all is in good condition
having only a few cracked panels but it is very stable not wobbly and it is mounted in a very unusual
frame. The frame is strong and sturdy made of mahogany with Brass mounts on all corners. It has a
picture frame exterior of carved and gold gilded wood.

excellent has great form and of course it has total function you can see the boot scraper bar at the
Wire Work Plant Stand 19th Century
A great 19th century wire work plant stand. This is a highly decorative one & wire work always
fascinates me. I suspect that mostly this piece can speak for itself. It measures 38” wide x 30.5” high the
top shelf is 9” wide & the bottom shelf is 7”wide. It is sturdy & just the way we found it with a rusty
surface. It would be just as good as new if you go over it with a wire brush & some oil or paste wax. It
sits on 4 porcelain or ironstone casters.
Cobalt Drawer Pulls
A great pair of Cobalt Blue Drawer Pulls. These are quite spectacular. They are free blown & mounted
into a heavy bronze collar. The cobalt blue color is superb & the bronze mounting is very rich. The
surface has some mild scratching. One has the original rusted screw & one has a newer replacement
screw. They measure 2 1/8” diameter x1 ½” long. This pair of knobs dates from the 1880’s.
Marble Pedestal Early 19th Century
Nice 19th century carved marble pedestal. More of a putty or dark eggshell base color with rich gray
veining throughout. The form is very classical. The condition is good having only quite a bit of chips
under the top surface at the neck & for some reason this is quite common on pedestals. This pedestal is
assembled in sections as it should be. It measures 42 ¼” high x 10” square top.
Early Hand Forged Iron Plant Stand
A stunning architectural item, hand forged Iron plant stand from the arts & crafts era. Three branch

combination of black & terracotta is completely stunning. This great architectural would great inside or
out on the deck! In very good condition from a Saco, Maine Home. Measuring 43” tall x 231/2” wide &
the holders are 6”in diameter, so they will hold a 6” clay flower pot in each.

some reason. These are the most outrageous urns, the form is just so naturalistic & free flowing .The

Cast Iron Fountain Signed J.W.Fiske
Super Fantastic 19th Century Architectural Garden Fountain. Made by J W Fiske, New York around
1880. If you are looking at this fountain you already know that Fiske is one of the most prolific & famous
Cast Iron Foundry in the United States in the 19th Century. This monumental Cast Iron Fountain has
the Fiske Foundry Mark Impressed into the bottom. It is made in sections & is in very good condition
except for one small old repaired crack in the bottom corner.

detail is exceptional & as you can see the movement just flows. Impressed into the bottom pan “Chase
Bro’s & Co.Boston, Patented” Measuring 30 ½” high x 13 ½” wide x 35” long. This looks just like it came
out of one of those old Boston Brownstone Houses. The fine architectural element has all of the charm
that you can imagine. In a great state of preservation in the original black iron color. It weighs a bloody
ton!
Gilt Brass Eagle Door Knocker
Awesome, Gilt Brass Eagle Door Knocker. It appears to date from the early 1900’s. The detail & form is
exceptional. So American, so traditional. I have removed several layers of paint to reveal the gold gilt
surface. I like the wide span of this door knocker. Measuring 8” wide at the top of the wing span & 7”
wide at the center & 9” long from top to bottom.
Gilt Metal Eagle
Mounted on a fairly new piece of wood, that would be great finished in black ebony. This gold gilt metal
Eagle is in a completely federal style. Appears to date from the 19th century & has spectacular detail.
The eagle measures 7 5/8” High x 9 ¼” across the wings. The base is 6 ¾” square. Measurement
including base is 7 ¾” High. This little sculpture sure would be wonderful just sitting on the bookcase or
fireplace. If you like what you see in the pictures you will be more than pleased to see it in real life!
Rococo Cast Iron Boot Scraper The Best
When was the last time you saw a great boot scraper like this one? In the 19th century they really
thought of everything, the design is very Rococo with the undulating shell in the center & the free
flowing acanthus leaf edges. The condition is really excellent, even the slight wind wear is just so
elegant & rich. It measures 11” H x 8 ½” W.
Boot Scraper Cast Iron
One of the most awesome boot scrapers to come out of hiding in quite some time! Made of Cast iron in
the true classical design Lyre. Dating from 1800-1830. The condition is good, the pan is rusty of course
& there is a foundry mark underneath, which is also a rare find. Measuring 8” high x 9 ½” wide.
Stained Glass Dome Skylight Monumental
Incredible 19th century sky light. From the old Spanish Consulate Building in Boston Mass. This is as
you can see quite the architectural masterpiece! It is large & powerful. The colors of the stained glass
are really so nostalgic! This dome is attributed to Boston Maker Bigelow & Kennard The condition is
very good, only 15 pieces have spider or hairlines cracks & 1 piece has half missing. That’s not bad at
all considering that this dome has hundreds of pieces.
Rare Stove Plate Full Figure Napoleon
Quite the rare & unusual architectural item. It is a stove plate cast in iron with the full body portrait of
Napoleon. Dating from the 19th century. The casting is very good, it is in the original mustard yellow
color painted surface. Measuring 12 ¾” High x 8 ¾” wide x 1 3/8” deep. As I said the casting is
excellent, well defined. This is a great historical item & a wonderful work of art. I could find many uses
for this, it can be placed in as an architectural element, as well as being framed
Iron Garden Urns With American Eagles
A great matching pair of Cast Iron Garden Urns. So unusual in the fact that it is so rare to find The
American Eagle design on the front. Take a look at the close up & you will see the Eagle in full pounce
stance with wings spread wide & talons ready to clutch the prey. What a great statement they make a
proud symbol of our American Heritage. I can really picture this pair on the front doorway of a Law
Office or Federal Home .Ok, the eagle is amazing, and then take a look at the handles, again super
interesting! With the handles being a head of a serpent or dolphin & a sleeping dog .
Cast Iron Garden Urn Early 1800's
A glorious true antique garden urn .I’m totally knocked out by the historical tone! Made of cast iron in
the 1st half of the 19th century. The design as you can see is truly classical with the female portrait
heads & Classical ribbon drapery all around the top of the urn .The lid has deep flowing flutes with a
Federal urn finial. All garden urns are great in my opinion, but finding one of this early age is a real
rarity!! Measuring 20 ½” High x 14 ½” Diameter. Striving For Excellence It isn’t brilliance or just getting
the breaks
Hitching Post Architectural Jockey
This is a super nice and genuine hitching post in the form of a jockey. I believe this hitching post is
made of zinc and it is assembled in two or more sections. It has been over painted and the recent paint
is crusted and flaking off revealing what appears to be the original paint underneath. Underneath is
white shirt top I can see an old yellow color trying to break through – new blue paint that is flaking
exposes a fabulous red color underneath. He is sitting on a typical hitching post base that is marked
with a foundry name of – Langldis of Vermont Inc. Rutland, Vermont.
Architectural Clay Fish Water Fountain
This is a very interesting 19th century architectural water fountain head. I believe it is made of clay –
the detail is very fine and it has quite a primitive look. It appears to me to be a rainbow trout but I’m not
quite sure. The piece is not quite perfect – it has a little bit of damage - the fin on his back has been
knocked off at some point and you can tell that it happened quite a long time ago and there is a little
chunk missing from the back around the edge.
Victorian Boot Scraper Cast Iron
Here is a fantastic Victorian boot scraper – very much in the Aesthetic movement design. It is cast iron
with its original paint which is just the way we like to see it a little bit worn etc. The boot scraper is
mounted and has been on this very old block of wood for quite a while. I believe originally these would
have been mounted into the cement step. It is in very good condition and it weights a bloody ton. It
dates from the last quarter of the 19th century. It measures 12 3/8” at widest x 12” at highest x 6” at
deepest.
Dolphin Form Utility Hook
Wonderful 19th Century architectural item here. Cast in iron, it is a hook in the dolphin form. These
hooks were used for hanging things from the large wood mantle, like cooking pots & hearth utensils &
from the ceiling, candle & oil burning lamps. In those days of the 19th century this was no doubt
something very special, when you figure that the average necessary hook was just a hand forged
simple one made at the local blacksmith. This is a great one & it is in very fine surface condition, with a
rich & mellow surface patina. Measuring 7 3/8” Long
