1903 Glass Vase American Indian Portrait
Indian Portrait Vase entitled Chief Red Cloud Portrait Vase. Nice glass vase with a portrait I believe of Chief Red Cloud - I'm not 100% sure but that is my best guess. Nice transfer portrait and on the side of the portrait written on the vase is Salisbury Beach 1903 - could quite possible be also 1908. Obviously a high end souvenir piece from that time period - I think Salisbury Beach is in New York - but I'm not quite sure of that either. The vase measures 7 3/8"h and the diameter of the base is 4".

Portrait painting on hide:Chief Joseph Orono
One of the nicest American Indian Pictures! This is a framed oil painted portrait of Chief Joseph Orono. The oil painted portrait is painted on deer hide & the work is so very interesting. Being very dimensional it appears that the face & arms are actually raised above the other parts of the picture almost as if the skin was pulled tight over a carved portrait then painted
